Our Cleaning Process
Using a truck-mounted system, we follow a six-step process for carpet cleaning. Once we have your approval of our assessment and estimate, we follow these steps:
Carpet Cleaning Procedures
- Dry-soil Removal: The dry-soil removal phase is the most important yet often overlooked step in the cleaning process. At East Sacramentot, we generally achieve this using a powerful commercial vacuum cleaner with HEPA filtration. This step is crucial as it removes non-soluable, sandy soils, ensuring a thorough and high-quality cleaning.
- Pre-conditioning or Pre-treatment: We topically apply engineered products to loosen and emulsify the remaining soluble soils using an injection sprayer.
- Agitation (as needed): We use light agitation to help spread the products evenly and encourage soil emulsification. We will occasionally use a more aggressive approach using a mechanical device with counter-rotating cylindrical brushes.
- Water-Rinse Extraction, formerly termed "Hot-Water Extraction": This involves the hoses coming into the establishment from our truck-mount system. Depending on the situation, we’ll use a minimal amount of engineered carpet rinsing detergent or a mild acidic rinse in the water during this process.
- Extra drying: When possible, we often use air movers or extra dry strokes to vacuum up as much excess water as possible to encourage drying.
- Grooming (when applicable): We use a carpet rake on cut-pile yarns to groom the carpet. This allows the fibers to dry upright rather than being matted down or leaving indentations and marks from the cleaning process.
Heavy Soil, Pet Urine, and Stains
Ardent Carpet Restore also addresses heavily soiled carpets and removes pet stains and odors, such as urine and dander. We can also remove stains like wine, coffee, and drink spills. Many of these require additional procedures and do affect the overall cost.
Drying Time
Many variables affect drying, but the latest standard states that the carpet must be dry within 12 hours. We like to do what we can to reduce the drying time as much as possible; however, some factors are beyond our control.
